Benton, Lewis Herbert (1872-1939)
Photograph of the Morris, Connecticut, railroad station, taken by Lewis Herbert Benton. [This description was contributed by Robert Joseph Belletzkie: The Morris, Connecticut, depot is on the Shepaug line in the “wilds of the Litchfield Hills.” The structure is thought to date to 1886 when it replaced the house behind it that served as the first station. Benton's traveling companion Irving Drake is semi-seated under the left overhang. This rural line ran from Hawleyville to Litchfield, Connecticut, from 1872 to 1948.]
