Benton, Lewis Herbert (1872-1939)
Photograph of the Northford railroad station in the town of North Haven, Connecticut, taken by Lewis Herbert Benton. While Northford is part of the North Branford, the station was built over the town line into North Haven. [This description was contributed by Richard A. Fleischer: Northford, Connecticut, is on the Air Line between New Haven and Middletown. Benton's traveling companion Irving Drake waits by his car for Benton to take the shot. The missing train order signal semaphore blades suggest that Northford was no longer a train order station. The Kickapoo Indian Medicine Company was located across the tracks from the Northford depot.]
